NAT CONWAY

AUSTRALIA DAY

OPERA HOUSE CONCERT

Australia’s best talents came together for the Australia Day concert at iconic venue the Sydney Opera House, playing the hottest tunes alongside tributes to great songs of the past televised live for Channel 10.

Performers included Tina Arena, Guy Sebastian, Human Nature, Dami Im and Nat Conway.

We were thrilled to act as creative director for Sony Artist Nat Conway’s epic performance of her hit single “Everybody’s Free”

We wanted to create a special performance that stuck true to Nat’s aesthetic as an artist but paid tribute to our beautiful country.

Award winning choreographer Matthew Gode was bought on board to choreograph the performance – we gave a brief on our staging vision and he bought it to life impeccably.

After casting some of the most talented dancers in the country, we created a mood board of costume references and worked with costume designer and stylist Heather Cairns to create the final costume for Nat and her dancers. We wanted to put a modern twist on iconic koala “Blinky Bill” and had it printed on the back of her costume. We also bought on board House of Emmanuelle for all of Nat’s Jewellery.

We worked alongside lighting director Stuart Anderson on the lighting plot working with a blue and pink colour pallet to really compliment the white costumes.

We oversaw the hair and make up direction - keeping with the Australian theme we wanted the make-up to be beautiful, natural and bronzed. Using golds and metallics around the eyes - we created make up and hair boards for the hair and makeup team which turned out stunning.

We were also lucky enough to work with the production company and block camera angles given the live TV aspect of the performance we wanted to make sure all special moments were captured.

The performance was a huge success and Nat's management, label and the social media all had an incredible response to the performance.
